Exploration #1

"Write ten things about where you are sitting right now that you hadn't noticed when you sat down. Use your senses. Do it quickly. Do not censor. Okay, begin."

It says do not censor... here we go:

1. There's a faint smell of strawberries here. It must be from the strawberry oatmeal I made for breakfast. I'm impressed at how the smell lingered here all day. It's subtle, but very pleasant.

2. There's a small coffee stain on the nightstand next to me. I'm not sure if this is significant of my new coffee drinking routine or a sign that this place needs a good scrubbing... but it's comforting somehow.

3. I have a LOT of pillows... practically a collection of pillows. Where did I acquire all of these? I don't use most of them. Maybe I should throw them all into a pile some day and dive in.

4. The air conditioner makes a slight buzzing sound when it's on. I can't usually hear it, because the sound of the air being pushed out of it is so loud. But it's definitely there.

5. One of my ceiling tiles is a slightly different colour than the rest of them... Has it always been? Will it still be tomorrow? Am I crazy?

6. I HAVEN'T PLUGGED IN MY SUPER NINTENDO YET. It's just sitting there taking up space! I need to get that done by this weekend... The weekend starts tomorrow... Jeez, where does time go?

7. "The Killing Joke" is sitting on my table! Right next to my stuffed sloth. If I were still a kid, I would assume that the sloth had been reading the book. Kind of a dark read for such a cute looking animal, though.

8. My bed is super comfortable. I know I sit on this thing every day, but dang is it cushy. To think there was a time when I preferred sleeping on a couch... I should put on my comfy pants to perfect this experience.

9. The light in here has a yellow twinge to it. I know that this is a frequent occurrence inside buildings, though I'm not entirely sure why.

10. Why am I still wearing my shoes? I took a nap in my shoes the other day. How did I do that?? Yeesh. I suppose that doesn't have anything to do with the room, but I can't seem to find anything else that I didn't notice when I got here... OH! The wall is cold. I didn't notice it before, but it's true. Bam. That's all I got.
