Why do you even go to Hobo Days?!

Exploration 49: Found words

Walking through campus on a cold, windy day, a group of students follow behind me on the sidewalk.

"She said, 'I don't want to find you on the sex offenders list.' " A male voice says in a high pitched tone to imitate the female voice he is referring to.

None of my business, I think to myself as I walk, trying to ignore the conversation.

"I shit you not! Right as he pulled up his pants, a cop car turned the corner!" The same male voice laughs while recalling the event.

Seriously, Britt. None of your business.

"Why do you even go to Hobo Days?" A female voice this time. I can hear in her tone that she is not very impressed.

"Because I'm 21!! Why wouldn't I want to go?!" The male voice hollers out.

I turn in the opposite direction the group of other students head towards.

Growing up in Ivanhoe, I spent my high school years hearing stories of Hobo days. Hearing this conversation was like having a flash back. It was a reminder that while I feel I am far from home, I'm never really that far.
