Time Observation: Exploration #37

This exploration is to come up with several ways of documenting the passage of time, based on where you are sitting.

------
I measure time in many different ways:

The breaths I take, the clicks of my keyboard as I type, the moments of brief silence followed by muffled laughter.

I can measure time in under-their-breath exclamations I hear from my classmates, the repetition of my leg bouncing as I do my work.

Time can be measured by loud interjections, the squeaks of our chairs, and the sighs that I make.

Time is measured in the number of insightful comments I hear my peers make, the passing of weather just outside the windows, the end of the day headache that slowly creeps up on me.

And I measure time in computer screens falling asleep, in a cold tabletop turning warm, and in the condensation on my water bottle slowly becoming victim to gravity.

  1. I love this post! I also love your last sentence about your water bottle "slowly becoming victim to gravity." Your words are beautiful poetry.
